Dr. Mohamed Ijas, President of the Sri Lanka Veterinary Association, and Dr. Deshika Jayasinghe, Secretary of the Association, warmly welcomed the distinguished guests at this significant event.

During the AGM, Dr. Ushan Pallegama was elected as the new President of the Sri Lanka Veterinary Association, and the 77^th Executive Committee was officially appointed.

The event was graced by the Hon. K. D. Lalkantha, Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Lands, and Irrigation, as the Chief Guest, and Hon. Namal Karunaratne, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, as the Guest of Honour. Mr. Tetsuya Yamada, JICA Representative for Sri Lanka, and Mr. D. P.  Wikramasingha, Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, also addressed the gathering. The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Peter De Almeida, inspiring the attendees with his insights.

The convention also honored the achievements of eminent veterinarian, Dr. Mrs. D. D. Niranjala De Silva, who was felicitated by the 76^th Executive Committee for her outstanding contributions to the veterinary profession in Sri Lanka.

Distinguished invitees included Dr. Mrs. Hemali Kothalawala, Director General of the Department of Animal Production & Health, and Dr. Anil Kalupahana, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, University of Peradeniya.

The event witnessed the participation of over 400 veterinarians and special invitees, marking yet another milestone in the history of the Sri Lanka Veterinary Association.
